Why "safe" matters: many online editors paste your HTML straight into the page β one <script> in a shared document and every reader is compromised. This renderer escapes raw HTML before applying Markdown, and only allows http, https and mailto links. Try pasting a script tag in the editor: it will show up as harmless text.
