Cryptographically secure API keys, secrets & session IDs β generated privately in your browser β by Dinal Studios
Powered by your browser's Web Crypto API (crypto.getRandomValues) β the same source of randomness your operating system trusts. Not Math.random(), never predictable.
π Tokens are generated on your device and shown only to you. Nothing is stored, logged or sent anywhere.
A token's strength is its entropy β how many possibilities an attacker must guess. Length and alphabet size multiply together:
| Use case | Sensible minimum | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Session ID | 128 bits of entropy (e.g. 32 hex chars) | Guessing must be hopeless even at billions of tries per second. |
| API key / secret | 32+ random characters or 64 hex chars | Long-lived and powerful β treat like a password for a machine. |
| Password reset link token | 128+ bits, single-use, short expiry | Entropy alone isn't enough: expiry and one-time use stop replay. |
| Email verification code | 6 digits is OK only with rate limits + expiry | Short codes survive because the server throttles guesses β context matters. |
