Bulk random UUID v4 (GUID) generation, validation & inspection โ privately in your browser โ by Dinal Studios
Generate from 1 to 100 cryptographically random version-4 UUIDs at once โ perfect for database seed data, test fixtures and unique IDs. Copy them all or download as a text file.
๐ UUIDs are generated on your device with the Web Crypto API. Nothing is uploaded or stored.
Paste any UUID to check whether it is well-formed and to inspect its version and variant โ the two fields hidden inside every UUID.
A UUID is 128 bits, usually written as 32 hex digits in 5 groups: xxxxxxxx-xxxx-Mxxx-Nxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx. The M digit is the version; the N digit encodes the variant.
| Version | How it's made | Used for |
|---|---|---|
| v1 | Timestamp + MAC address | Legacy systems. Leaks the generating machine's MAC & time โ avoid for privacy-sensitive IDs. |
| v3 / v5 | MD5 / SHA-1 hash of a namespace + name | Deterministic IDs: the same name always produces the same UUID. |
| v4 | 122 bits of pure randomness | The default choice โ database keys, file names, request IDs. This tool generates v4. |
| v7 | Unix timestamp + randomness | Newer, time-ordered โ sorts naturally in databases while staying hard to guess. |
