π Audit Your Router
Answer for the network you want to check. Not sure where a setting lives? Most routers: open a browser to 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1, sign in, and look under Wireless / Advanced. The audit works as a guest β log in above to save audits for several networks (home, office, parents' houseβ¦).
πΎ My Saved Network Audits
Each saved audit keeps the network's answers and score, so you can re-audit after fixing settings and watch the score improve. Edit loads the answers back into the form above; records export/import as JSON from your account card.
π Why These Eight Settings?
Encryption is the wall. WEP can be cracked in minutes with free tools; WPA2 is the acceptable floor, WPA3 is the modern standard. An open network has no wall at all.
WPS is a spare key under the mat. Its PIN mode can be brute-forced independently of your strong password β turning WPS off removes that shortcut.
The admin password guards the guards. Default router admin credentials are published in manuals. Anyone on (or into) your network can rewrite every setting if it was never changed.
Guest networks are blast walls. Visitors and cheap smart gadgets get internet without getting a path to your laptop, NAS and work files.
